Horse drawing ~2004
Fish Painting ~2021
When I was little, my interest in art was linked to my interest in horses. Like a lot of girls, I loved horses. I used to turn empty notebooks into horse encyclopedias, and would draw the characters of any pony-related books I read (Pony Pals, anyone?).
I carried my precious drawings around in a wheeled cooler so I could put on mobile "art shows." I still have a lot of those early drawings, although I don't keep them in a cooler anymore.Â
I have expanded my subject matter since those days, and I am not interested in sticking to one distinct "style," despite the conventional and permeating wisdom that urges artists to do just that. Having a style is boring. And I'd rather create a variety of fun things than make lots of money or be widely known. And while my portfolio might not be as matchy and put-together as other artists', there's something for everyone, and most of all, I'm having fun!
Nowadays my interest in art is linked to my interest in educating my children and making my home fun. I love trying new creative things and have recently gotten into game design (I never saw that coming).
So check back often because you never know what I'm going to do next!
